i've been watching the news coverage on hurricane dean. watching and listening as officials up here in the dallas/ forth worth area brace and prepare for the forcasted damage. over the weekend there was coverage on how many buses and aid were already en route. how bush had declared a 'pre-disaster'. i watch.. and i listen and i wait for the word that years after hurricane katrina hit, the government finally gave a damn about the thousands dispersed and in a very large sense still homeless in the n.o. i sit .. and i watch.. in vain.
