This group, we were led to believe, was your basic everyday undecided Republican voter. Interestingly the guy pictured above, went out of his way to call Ron Paul "certifiably insane".

Well youtuber "uneedhelp" has done some detective work for us. As it turns out this man is none other than Douglas Maher a well known "Freeper" (activist at the Right Wing freerepublic.com website.) Mr. Maher also claims to work for an advertising firm that "has managed to deliver Jeb and George four elections."

Maher acted simultaneously as Journalist and GOP operative / "activist" during the 2000 Gore v. Bush ballot count controversy in Florida.

The Ron Paul thorn must be festering as the GOP media machine ups it's efforts to marginalize through the use of dishonest "journalism".

Ronald Ernest "Ron" Paul (born August 20, 1935), is a 10th-term Republican United States Congressman from Lake Jackson, Texas, a physician, and a Republican candidate for the 2008 U.S. presidential election. He has represented Texas's 14th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1997, and its 22nd district, from 1976 to 1977 and from 1979 to 1985. Paul placed third in the 1988 presidential election with 0.5% of the vote, running as the Libertarian Party nominee while remaining a registered Republican. After his 1961 graduation from Duke University School of Medicine and a residency in obstetrics and gynecology (ob/gyn), he became an Air Force flight surgeon, serving outside the Vietnam War zone.

Paul has been called a conservative, Constitutionalist, and libertarian. He advocates non-interventionist foreign policy, having voted against the Iraq War Resolution. House Passes Thought Crime Prevention Bill

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed HR 1955 titled the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. This is the fucking patriot act on steroids! You better be careful when you talk about politics, or the constitution, or Ron Paul, because you might just be considered a fucking terrorist! They're getting mobilized against us, so what the fuck are we going to do about it?!

The U.S. House of Representatives recently passed HR 1955 titled the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007. This bill is one of the most blatant attacks against the Constitution yet and actually defines thought crimes as homegrown terrorism. If passed into law, it will also establish a commission and a Center of Excellence to study and defeat so called thought criminals. Unlike previous anti-terror legislation, this bill specifically targets the civilian population of the United States and uses vague language to define homegrown terrorism. Amazingly, 404 of our elected representatives from both the Democrat and Republican parties voted in favor of this bill. There is little doubt that this bill is specifically targeting the growing patriot community that is demanding the restoration of the Constitution.

First let's take a look at the definitions of violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism as defined in Section 899A of the bill.

The definition of violent radicalization uses vague language to define this term of promoting any belief system that the government considers to be an extremist agenda. Since the bill doesn't specifically define what an extremist belief system is, it is entirely up to the interpretation of the government. Considering how much the government has done to destroy the Constitution they could even define Ron Paul supporters as promoting an extremist belief system. Literally, the government according to this definition can define whatever they want as an extremist belief system. Essentially they have defined violent radicalization as thought crime. The definition as defined in the bill is shown below.

..(2) VIOLENT RADICALIZATION- The term ..violent radicalization' means the process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.

The definition of homegrown terrorism uses equally vague language to further define thought crime. The bill includes the planned use of force or violence as homegrown terrorism which could be interpreted as thinking about using force or violence. Not only that but the definition is so vaguely defined, that petty crimes could even fall into the category of homegrown terrorism. The definition as defined in the bill is shown below.

..(3) HOMEGROWN TERRORISM- The term ..homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

Section 899B of the bill goes over the findings of Congress as it pertains to homegrown terrorism. Particularly alarming is that the bill mentions the Internet as a main source for terrorist propaganda. The bill even mentions streams in obvious reference to many of the patriot and pro-constitution Internet radio networks that have been formed. It also mentions that homegrown terrorists span all ages and races indicating that the Congress is stating that everyone is a potential terrorist. Even worse is that Congress states in their findings that they should look at draconian police states like Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom as models to defeat homegrown terrorists. Literally, these findings of Congress fall right in line with the growing patriot community.

The biggest joke of all is that this section also says that any measure to prevent violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism should not violate the constitutional rights of citizens. However, the definition of violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism as they are defined in section 899A are themselves unconstitutional. The Constitution does not allow the government to arrest people for thought crimes, so any promises not to violate the constitutional rights of citizens are already broken by their own definitions.

..SEC. 899B. FINDINGS.

..The Congress finds the following:

..(1) The development and implementation of methods and processes that can be utilized to prevent violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence in the United States is critical to combating domestic terrorism.

..(2) The promotion of violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence exists in the United States and poses a threat to homeland security.

..(3) The Internet has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens.

..(4) While the United States must continue its vigilant efforts to combat international terrorism, it must also strengthen efforts to combat the threat posed by homegrown terrorists based and operating within the United States.

..(5) Understanding the motivational factors that lead to violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence is a vital step toward eradicating these threats in the United States.

..(6) The potential rise of self radicalized, unaffiliated terrorists domestically cannot be easily prevented through traditional Federal intelligence or law enforcement efforts, and requires the incorporation of State and local solutions.

..(7) Individuals prone to violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence span all races, ethnicities, and religious beliefs, and individuals should not be targeted based solely on race, ethnicity, or religion.

..(8) Any measure taken to prevent violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence and homegrown terrorism in the United States should not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights and civil liberties of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents.

..(9) Certain governments, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia have significant experience with homegrown terrorism and the United States can benefit from lessons learned by those nations.

Section 899C calls for a commission on the prevention of violent radicalization and ideologically based violence. The commission will consist of ten members appointed by various individuals that hold different positions in government. Essentially, this is a commission that will examine and report on how they are going to deal with violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism. So basically, the commission is being formed specifically on how to deal with thought criminals in the United States. The bill requires that the commission submit their final report 18 months following the commission's first meeting as well as submit interim reports every 6 months leading up to the final report. Below is the bill's defined purpose of the commission. Amazingly they even define one of the purposes of the commission to determine the causes of lone wolf violent radicalization.

(b) Purpose- The purposes of the Commission are the following:

..(1) Examine and report upon the facts and causes of violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence in the United States, including United States connections to non-United States persons and networks, violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence in prison, individual or ..lone wolf' violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence, and other faces of the phenomena of violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence that the Commission considers important.

..(2) Build upon and bring together the work of other entities and avoid unnecessary duplication, by reviewing the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of--

..(A) the Center of Excellence established or designated under section 899D, and other academic work, as appropriate;

..(B) Federal, State, local, or tribal studies of, reviews of, and experiences with violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence; and

..(C) foreign government studies of, reviews of, and experiences with violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence.

Section 899D of the bill establishes a Center of Excellence for the Study of Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism in the United States. Essentially, this will be a Department of Homeland Security affiliated institution that will study and determine how to defeat thought criminals.

Section 899E of the bill discusses how the government is going to defeat violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism through international cooperation. As stated in the findings section earlier in the legislation, they will unquestionably seek the advice of countries with draconian police states like the United Kingdom to determine how to deal with this growing threat of thought crime.

Possibly the most ridiculous section of the bill is Section 899F which states how they plan on protecting civil rights and civil liberties while preventing ideologically based violence and homegrown terrorism. Here is what the section says.

..SEC. 899F. PROTECTING CIVIL RIGHTS AND CIVIL LIBERTIES WHILE PREVENTING IDEOLOGICALLY-BASED VIOLENCE AND HOMEGROWN TERRORISM.

..(a) In General- The Department of Homeland Security's efforts to prevent ideologically-based violence and homegrown terrorism as described herein shall not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights, and civil liberties of United States citizens and lawful permanent residents.

..(b) Commitment to Racial Neutrality- The Secretary shall ensure that the activities and operations of the entities created by this subtitle are in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security's commitment to racial neutrality.

..(c) Auditing Mechanism- The Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Officer of the Department of Homeland Security will develop and implement an auditing mechanism to ensure that compliance with this subtitle does not result in a disproportionate impact, without a rational basis, on any particular race, ethnicity, or religion and include the results of its audit in its annual report to Congress required under section 705.'.

(b) Clerical Amendment- The table of contents in section 1(b) of such Act is amended by inserting at the end of the items relating to title VIII the following:

It states in the first subsection that in general the efforts to defeat thought crime shall not violate the constitutional rights, civil rights and civil liberties of the United States citizens and lawful permanent residents. How does this protect constitutional rights if they use vague language such as in general that prefaces the statement? This means that the Department of Homeland Security does not have to abide by the Constitution in their attempts to prevent so called homegrown terrorism.

This bill is completely insane. It literally allows the government to define any and all crimes including thought crime as violent radicalization and homegrown terrorism. Obviously, this legislation is unconstitutional on a number of levels and it is clear that all 404 representatives who voted in favor of this bill are traitors and should be removed from office immediately. The treason spans both political parties and it shows us all that there is no difference between them. The bill will go on to the Senate and will likely be passed and signed into the law by George W. Bush. Considering that draconian legislation like the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act have already been passed, there seems little question that this one will get passed as well. This is more proof that our country has been completely sold out by a group of traitors at all levels of government.

Nicolas Sarkozy : le quatrième homme. » Au-dessus, un pseudo-logo de la « DGSE ». « Tout cela respire la manip à plein nez, avec des relents d’extrême droite », prévient un cadre dirigeant au ministère de l’Intérieur.

Selon l’auteur du message, en 1978, le gouvernement de Menahem Begin aurait commandité l’infiltration du parti gaulliste pour en faire une sorte de partenaire d’Israël. L’opération aurait été montée par Rafael Eytan, maître-espion israélien. « Trois citoyens français prédisposés à collaborer » auraient donc été ciblés : Patrick Balkany, Patrick Devedjian et Pierre Lellouche. Balkany est présenté comme le chef du « réseau ».

En 1983, Patrick Balkany aurait recruté le « jeune et prometteur » Sarkozy, le « quatrième homme du Mossad ». Une cinquième recrue serait venue compléter le dispositif dans les années 1990 : Manuel Aeschlimann, député-maire d’Asnières (Hauts-de-Seine). Le cybercorbeau affirme que ce proche de Sarkozy est « chargé d’établir des contacts avec des responsables iraniens en France ». Une assertion d’autant plus perfide que sa ville d’Asnières accueille effectivement une forte communauté iranienne.

Mais le corbeau a bien choisi le lieu de ses persiflages : dans ce commerce où l’anonymat est la règle, puisque la loi n’impose pas de présenter ses papiers pour accéder aux ordinateurs, il n’y avait pas de vidéosurveillance. Aucune empreinte, aucune trace d’ADN n’a pu être exploitée. L’expertise des machines n’a rien donné. Pas plus que l’analyse sémantique du texte.

Et l’enquête se poursuit à la demande du parquet. Au risque de donner à cette affaire une importance qu’elle ne méritait pas.

The military planes of the German Federal Army are manipulating our climate; this is what the weather researchers are presuming and their suspicions are confirmed.

Sinister clouds, up to 350 km long, appear all of a sudden on the radar, but only on the meteorogical radars. The first time it happened was in the summer of 2005. and then in March of 2006. The german army has admitted having war exercises towards the borders with the Netherlands.

For Karsten Brandt, meteorologist, this is the answer to the enigma:

We can state with a 97% certainty that we have on our hands chemical trails (chemtrails) comprised by fine dust containing polymers and metals, used to disrupt radar signals.

This is their main purpose, but I was surprised that this artificial cloud was so wide-spread. The radar images are stunning considering the needed tons of dispearsed elements -- although, the federal army claims that only small amounts of material were propagated. The military heads claim that the substances used are not harmful.

In the United States of America there are protest after protest for many years now, against these military operations and now people are mobilising in Germany as well. Per example JOHANNES REMMEL of the Greens.

It's obvious that enormous regions are being poluted with clandestine actions, but all of this has to be made public. The government must provide explanations to the unsuspecting population.

Yet the story continues: in the following three weeks the instruments register other activities of suspicious aircrafts, similar to the previously mentioned, above other areas of Germany. Meanwhile the sattelite imagery is clearly counterfited by the military.

From our observations we can conclude that they fly over the regions of Westfalia, Bielefeld, the Ruhr zone to Saxony and Hamburg, forming a really dense layer of artificial cloud-cover.

These witnesses include fire crew, police officers and media reporters - who all heard and saw explosions going off inside the towers and building 7, long before they actually fell. Many witnesses reported powerful explosions in the basements of the buildings long before they collapsed. Controlled demolition experts agree that the collapses of these three buildings bear all of the hallmarks of a controlled demolition. For example, we see demolition "squibs" shooting out of the windows of the buildings before they started to collapse. All three buildings collapsed at near freefall speed. Building 7, which wasn't hit by a plane and contained only small scattered fires, came down symmetrically in just 6-seconds. And 6-weeks after 9/11, liquified steel was found under the rubble of all three buildings and the temperature was still in excess of 1500F. Jet-fuel simply cannot burn hot enough to reach that sort of temperature, let alone stay that hot for 6-weeks. Only thermite explosives can do this. Many of the steel beams found in the rubble of the three buildings were cut diagonally - in exactly the same way as shaped-charges slice through steel diagonally to bring a building straight down. Sulfur residue was also found on the steel beams. Sulfur used with thermite is called thermate -- which produces even faster results than thermite, reaching temperatures of over 4,000F. We also see red-hot molten steel dripping from the windows of the towers prior to their collapse. How much more evidence do we need before we accept that those 3 buildings were brought down in a controlled demolition?

President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.

The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive," with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive, establishes under the office of president a new National Continuity Coordinator.

Translated into layman's terms, when the President determines a national emergency has occurred, the President can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.

NSPD-51/ HSPD-20 also makes no reference whatsoever to Congress. The language of the May 9 directive appears to negate any a requirement that the President submit to Congress a determination that a national emergency exists, suggesting instead that the powers of the executive order can be implemented without any congressional approval or oversight.

Homeland Security spokesperson Russ Knocke affirmed that the Homeland Security Department will be implementing the requirements of NSPD-51/HSPD-20 under Townsend's direction.

The White House had no comment.

Une note du ministère de la Défense rappelle à l’ordre les gendarmes, leur demande d’intensifier les arrestations de sans-papiers et fait de la chasse aux immigrés leur priorité.

Le général d’armée Guy Parayre est directeur général de la gendarmerie nationale au ministère de la Défense. Le 4 septembre dernier, il adressait au préfet de police de Paris et aux préfets de métropole une note dont l’objet était la « lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière ». Visiblement, les gendarmes ne sont pas assez motivés à courir après les personnes sans titre de séjour, puisque le général dénonce « de grandes disparités entre les régions et les groupements ». Certains ont même des résultats en dessous de ceux de 2006. Situation inacceptable, quand on connaît la culture du chiffre des expulsions et des arrestations fixé par le ministre de l’Immigration.

Que vient faire ici ce chef des armées ? Nicolas Sarkozy, en ministre de l’Intérieur, avait obtenu que soient regroupées sous sa houlette toutes les « forces de l’ordre » concernées par la chasse aux étrangers sans titre. Les gendarmes se trouvaient donc sous les ordres du ministre de l’Intérieur. Devenu président, il a créé le ministère de l’Immigration (...) qui a pour mission cette chasse et pour moyens les effectifs de la police et de l’armée, via la gendarmerie. C’est aussi simple que cela. L’Intérieur et la Défense, sur ce sujet, sont aux ordres de Brice Hortefeux.

Le général Parayre, le petit doigt sur la couture du pantalon, applique. Après la leçon aux préfets délivrée par Brice Hortefeux, le mois dernier, le général bat le rappel. Mais il en rajoute. Nous ne savions pas encore que « la lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière sous tous ses aspects » était « érigée en priorité nationale ». Nous avions le cancer, la maladie d’Alzheimer, les accidents sur les routes... Pour mener sa guerre, le maintenant, nous avons la chasse de personnes qui n’aspirent qu’à vivre, enfin, en paix. Le général va même réquisitionner les réservistes et les retraités et faire rechercher les informations auprès de tous les services compétents, jusqu’aux travailleurs sociaux.

Une course à la délation, un climat de terreur, qui rappelle d’autres époques sinistres de notre histoire.

À Monsieur le Préfet de police, Mesdames et Messieurs es Préfets (métropole),

La gendarmerie nationale prend toute sa part à la lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière.

Pour parvenir à atteindre les objectifs qui lui ont été assignés par le ministre de l’Immigration, de l’Intégration, de l’Identité nationale et du Codéveloppement, j’ai décidé de mettre en oeuvre un certain nombre de mesures. Vous en trouverez le détail dans la note jointe.

L’étude de l’action menée par la gendarmerie dans le domaine de la lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière depuis le début de l’année 2007 laisse apparaître de grandes disparités entre régions de gendarmerie et, au sein d’entre elles, entre groupements. En outre, et malgré les rappels effectués, l’engagement de certains groupements est nettement en retrait par rapport à 2006.

Au terme des sept premiers mois de l’année, 67 groupements de 17 régions sont en deçà de leurs objectifs annuels. Érigée en priorité gouvernementale, la lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière, sous tous ses aspects, doit constituer un réel axe d’effort et donner lieu à l’élaboration de véritables plans d’action.

À cet égard, il vous est demandé de mettre en oeuvre les directives ci-après qui visent à améliorer l’efficience de l’action des unités en réorientant leur service, en harmonisant leur organisation et en renforçant leur capacité opérationnelle.




I - Mesures relatives à l’organisation et à l’orientation du service.

À l’instar des 24 cellules mises en oeuvre dans 20 départements, les 29 GGD dont l’objectif 2007 est supérieur ou égal à 75 personnes à mettre en cause au titre de l’index 69 de l’État 4001 (1) mettront en place dans les meilleurs délais une cellule de lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière (9 en sont déjà dotés).

Ces structures, à caractère permanent, seront activées sous plafond des effectifs et devront être armées en priorité par des militaires ayant une compétence et une motivation dans ce domaine. Elles seront placées sous la responsabilité directe des CGGD et leur animation confiée au OAPJ.

Les contacts avec les bureaux des étrangers des préfectures, les DDPAF, les DDSJ, les inspections du travail, les organismes et bailleurs sociaux devront être particulièrement recherchés.

La surveillance des flux routiers, autoroutiers et ferroviaires devra être intensifiée. Les contrôles mis en oeuvre seront exécutés dans un cadre espace-temps le plus approprié.

Le service des EDSR devra impérativement intégrer ce volet missionnel avec des orientations précises et ciblées. De même, les unités qui participent activement à la sécurisation des transports ferroviaires (présence dans les trains et les gares) devront, au cours de leur service, élargir leur activité à toutes les infractions à la législation sur les étrangers.

À cet égard, les contrôles nocturnes des barrières de péage, des aires de repos des autoroutes, des gares routières et ferroviaires seront à organiser.

Pour l’ensemble des unités territoriales, un effort particulier devra également être consenti dans le domaine de la lutte contre le travail illégal. Les activités saisonnières notamment, propices à l’emploi d’étrangers sans titre de travail, non déclarés et/ou en situation irrégulière sur le territoire national, devront faire l’objet de contrôles adaptés.

De même, la sensibilisation des personnels à la lutte contre la fraude documentaire devra être au besoin renouvelée, en sollicitant notamment les premiers formateurs experts en fraude documentaire (FEFD) formés par le département « faux documents » de l.

Enfin, les contrôles relatifs aux individus ou groupes d’individus qui se livrent à la mendicité forcée ou agressive, ou qui occupent illégalement un terrain privé seront intensifiés. Leur situation sera attentivement examinée, notamment au regard de leurs conditions de séjour sur le territoire national (...).


III - Suppression des escortes consécutives au placement des ESI en CRA.

L’arrêté du 22 avril 1997 (2) qui fixe la répartition des escortes des retenus entre la police et la gendarmerie sera prochainement modifié afin de faire assurer, dès le 1er janvier 2008, toutes les escortes postérieures au placement des ESI en CRA par le service en charge de la garde des CRA.

L’objectif est de libérer les unités territoriales de ces déplacements consommateurs de moyens et de personnels, et de leur permettre ainsi de réorienter leur activité missionnelle dans le domaine de la lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière.

Pour toutes les escortes à partir des CRA, il pourra être fait appel, en substitution de gendarmes mobiles, au concours de réservistes, retraités de l’arme, et de gendarmes adjoints volontaires, confirmés dans l’emploi. Ces personnels devront toutefois être systématiquement placés sous les ordres d’un sous-officier d’active. Vous veillerez, dès à présent, à évaluer le volume de ces personnels afin de ne pas alourdir la charge de la gendarmerie mobile.



IV - Réunions de police

Vous mettrez à profit les réunions « immigration » et « police ferroviaire » des cellules de coordination opérationnelle zonales (CCOZ), animées par les DZPAF, pour recueillir et échanger avec nos partenaires les informations utiles à la lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière.

En outre, les réunions polices organisées chaque semaine en préfecture devront également permettre aux commandants de groupements de recueillir des informations auprès des autres services de l’État (bureau des étrangers, RG, DDJS, DDA...). Un calendrier mensuel des interventions des DZPAF à l’occasion des réunions hebdomadaires de police sera prochainement communiqué.

Le ministère de l’Immigration, de l’Intégration, de l’Identité nationale et du Codéveloppement vient de rappeler aux forces de sécurité la nécessité de tout mettre en oeuvre pour atteindre les objectifs fixés.

En conséquence, vous veillerez à élaborer vos plans d’action dans vos zones de compétence et à donner vos directives à vos commandants d’unités en m’en adressant copie. Les besoins supplémentaires que vous estimeriez nécessaires pour l’accomplissement de cette mission primordiale pourront être formulés auprès des services compétents de la DGGN.

La lutte contre l’immigration irrégulière est une mission à part entière qui nécessite l’engagement de tous. Chaque militaire doit être convaincu qu’il doit agir avec détermination, volontarisme et méthode pour atteindre les objectifs fixés. Pour autant, en toutes circonstances, l’humanité, le discernement et l’intelligence des situations devront guider l’action de chacun.

The region of Mesopotamia—modern-day Iraq —has been a magnet for greedy conquerors for thousands of years. Time and again, thieving invaders coveting her rich natural resources and advanced society have pillaged “the land between two rivers.” Time and again, the invaders were defeated and expelled. The Americans led by “leaders” comprised of rich oil barons and neo-conservative Zionists are the latest in a long line of imperialists.



If they had only read history, however, they could have predicted that they, too, would suffer great losses from an unwavering resistance. They could have predicted that they, too, will have to leave. In the words of Yogi Berra, they “made the wrong mistake.” But while imperialism in Western Asia is nothing new, our weaponry and war crimes may put Americans in the history books as Iraq ’s most barbaric invaders ever.



Throughout the last hundred years, Iraqis have experienced much social, political, and economic turmoil. The British occupied the region in the early 20th century, and installed a puppet monarchy to serve the interests of the Empire. King Faisal, with pro-British agents Nuri Al-Said and Saleh Jabr, traded Iraq ’s wealth and their own dignity for power and greed.[i]



Many Iraqis identified them as traitors, as evidenced by demonstration slogans: “Nuri Al-Said, Al-Qundara; Saleh Jabr, Al-Qeetanheh” (“Al-Said is the shoe, Jabr is its shoelace.”)



On July 14th, 1958 (marked as Iraq ’s first Independence Day), a coup lead by General Abdul Karim Qasim— Iraq ’s self-proclaimed “only leader”—resulted in the dissolution of the “Kingdom” of Iraq . The royal family was assassinated, and the “ Republic of Iraq ” was born—a development that took Western powers by surprise.



Iraqis had suffered greatly under the exploitation of the British and their Indian and Nepalese “Gurkha” militias. With the end of the Kingdom, they hoped conditions would improve, and for a brief time, they did.



General Qasim, influenced by his allies in the Iraqi Communist Party, introduced sweeping socio-economic reforms to distribute the nation’s wealth more equitably. Also, in 1959, he withdrew Iraq from the U.S.-orchestrated Baghdad Pact, established to confront the Soviet Union .



However, pan-Arab nationalists (including members of the Ba’ath Socialist Party) led by Qasim’s second-in-command, Abdul Salam Arif, wanted Iraq to move in a different direction.



At the time, they sought to join Iraq with Egypt and Syria in the United Arab Republic (UAR). In October 1959 during a failed coup, there was an attempt on Qasim’s life by a group of militant Ba’athists, including one young Iraqi from the town of Tikrit named Saddam Hussein.[ii]



Qasim’s rule lasted only until 1963, when he was assassinated by his former deputy Abdul Salam Arif. According to the late King Hussein of Jordan , the American CIA backed this coup and fed the rebels information on leftist intellectuals and communists, who were summarily executed by the rising Ba’athists.[iii]



Arif’s rule, however, also was short-lived; he died in a plane crash in 1966 while visiting Basra . His brother, Abdul Rahman Arif, succeeded his rule, but yet another coup was simmering.In 1968, former General Ahmed Hassan al-Bakr and Saddam Hussein—leaders of Iraq ’s Ba’ath Party—toppled Arif to become President and Vice-President, respectively.



The Ba’athists had gained popularity among Iraqis in the 1950’s for their strong opposition to British imperialists and their agents.



In the early hours of July 17—Iraq’s second Independence Day—General Al-Bakr drove up to the barracks of the Republican Guard outside Abdul Rahman Arif’s palace. He was followed by a convoy of armed Ba’athists, including Saddam Hussein and his half-brother Barzan. Promised his life, Arif quickly surrendered, and the “White” Revolution was complete.



Bloodshed would soon follow, however, as Al-Bakr and Hussein consolidated their power over the Republic. Any threat to their rule—from collaborators with imperial Europe to members of opposing political parties to challenges within their own party—was quickly eliminated.



While al-Bakr was the nominal leader, Hussein ran the Party, the National Guard, and the state’s security apparatus. He played major roles in establishing treaties with Kurdish parties in northern Iraq and nationalizing Iraq ’s oil (1972-1975),[iv] to profit Iraq instead of foreign companies.



Though the regime remained politically oppressive until its fall in 2003, Iraqi society and the economy flourished once autonomy over oil sales was reclaimed from foreign hands. By the late 1970’s, the value of the Iraqi dinar was equivalent to over three American dollars.



Education and literacy rates were on the rise, and the healthcare system was considered the “jewel of the Arab World.” (Thirty years later, however, gas-guzzling Americans and British shocked and awed their way back into the driver’s seat, resulting in the destruction of Iraq ’s infrastructure and civil society.)



Saddam Hussein remained the behind-the-scenes de facto ruler until July 16, 1979, when al-Bakr retired and gave the presidential seat to his second-in-command. Soon thereafter, the lives of Iraqis would return to suffering.



In 1980, tensions were rising between Iraq and Iran . Although the 1975 Algiers Accord between the two nations established a diplomatic resolution to their long-standing territorial disputes, neither country abided by its terms.



In addition, Iran ’s new leader, Ayatollah Ruholla Khomeini, sought to extend theocratic rule to secular Iraq and the Gulf monarchies. As tensions rose, each side accused the other of encouraging internal uprisings.



In September 1980, with the tacit approval of the United States , Saudi Arabia , and the rest of the Gulf States whose leaders feared Khomeini’s aspirations of regional hegemony, Hussein launched a massive military assault. The Iran-Iraq War officially began.



The United States appeared to side with Iraq by supplying the Iraqi army with conventional, biological and chemical weapons as well as intelligence.



In secrecy, however, the Reagan Administration also sold arms to Iran without Congressional approval, and used the funds to support the U.S.-backed Contra insurgency against the Sandinista Government in Nicaragua.



This criminal activity is remembered as the Iran-Contra scandal, for which no one has been brought to justice. In fact, many of its culprits remain top U.S. government officials, including members of the recent Iraq Study Group, such as the new Secretary of Defense Robert Gates. Before a cease-fire was declared between Iraq and Iran on April 20, 1988, over a million lives were lost.



In 1988, Saddam Hussein’s regime was developing a $40 billion plan for post-war reconstruction. Kuwait , however, was selling oil in quantities exceeding those mandated by OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) agreements.



This inexplicable violation of OPEC-established limits dropped the price of oil per barrel, which drastically reduced Iraq ’s export earnings.



Kuwait ’s Al-Sabah monarchy was also demanding repayment of the 10 billion dollar financial support given to Iraq to defend against the Ayatollah’s regime that would depose them.



Furthermore, the Kuwaitis were stealing oil from the Rumaila field in southern Iraq by “slant-drilling” under the border. As diplomatic efforts to resolve these and the long-standing border disputes between the two countries were dismissed by the Al-Sabah sheikhs, Saddam Hussein threatened military action to end Kuwait ’s intransigence. On August 2, 1990—once again with tacit approval from the United States —Iraqi troops crossed the border of one of its neighbors.



Since then, punishment for the Iraqi government’s actions has been carried out against the country’s civilian population, in violation of the basic standards of international law. U.N. sanctions imposed on Iraq ’s economy on August 6, 1990, lasted until the fall of Saddam Hussein’s regime after the American invasion of 2003.



It is estimated that between 1.2 and 1.8 million Iraqis died during those years, due to starvation, destruction of electrical and sewage treatment plants during the Gulf War, daily bombing by US and British warplanes, and denial of basic medical supplies and equipment.



But today, Iraqis see those as their “better days”—a testimonial to the grave human suffering under the brutal, illegal American-British occupation.



Every Iraqi knows of Al-Hajaj bin Yusef Al-Thaqafi, a ruler from a thousand years ago reputed to have led the most brutal and repressive regime in Iraq’s long history. The name “Al-Hajaj” is invoked in casual conversation to describe times when conditions have hit rock bottom.



Ironically, Saddam Hussein admired the rule of that brutal leader. Some Iraqis thought the now assassinated president would replace Al-Hajaj in the colloquial lexicon—that is, until the 2003 arrival of “Al-Dijaj” (in Arabic, “the chicken”): George W. Bush and his chicken hawk administration.



Those rich politicians in Washington, who send poor Americans to kill and be killed in the name of stealing control of Iraq ’s oil, evaded their own opportunities for military service.



And just as the British used King Faisal as a puppet ruler in the 1920’s, the Americans have their own stooges today, including Ahmed Chalabi, Iyad Allawi, Ibrahim Jafaari, and Nuri Al-Maliki. Al-Dijaj and the rest of the chicken coop know nothing of combat, poverty, or human suffering either at home or abroad.



Since 1958, Iraqis have hoped that each regime change might bring a better life. Have they hit rock bottom now?

Marie Drucker : Merci beaucoup mais je pence que l'on a compris...

Yves Bertrand aurait-il des informations ultraconfidentielles à nous cacher quant à une probable attaque suicide extra-terrestre ? Que viennent faire les « ondes » et « front de libération des animaux », ainsi que l'association Robin des Toits, dans les probables futures menaces terroristes ? Après qu'il ait visionné l'interview, j'ai posé la question à un policier des renseignements généraux, toujours en poste et qui souhaite garder l'anonymat : « Je n'ai rien compris, son intervention est un mystère, ce type n'a pas à parler au nom de mon service, cela renvoie une image mauvaise des renseignements généraux, j'ai l'impression qu'on va passer pour des tocards ».

Mon confrère, Franck Trautmann, journaliste et chercheur spécialisé des questions de stratégies et de défense qui a aussi visionné l'interview en direct s'offusque : « c'est du Jean-Claude Van Damme, je n'ai jamais vu un delirium pareil en direct, je me demande ce que font les rédacteurs en chef, s'ils sont vraiment compétents. Je connaissais déjà l'incompétence de Yves Bertrand, mais à ce point, c'est une attaque kamikaze ! »

Alors qu'à la fin de l'interview Yves Bertrand déplorait « ça été très vite trop vite parce qu'on a un aspect réducteur dans le propos, forcément... », on peut se demander effectivement QUI est l'aspect réducteur dans cette interview... forcément !

Et Forcément encore, l'association Robin des Toits se réserve le droit d'une action en justice...

Adieu 1945, raccrochons notre pays au monde !

Les annonces successives des différentes réformes par le gouvernement peuvent donner une impression de patchwork, tant elles paraissent variées, d'importance inégale, et de portées diverses : statut de la fonction publique, régimes spéciaux de retraite, refonte de la Sécurité sociale, paritarisme...
A y regarder de plus près, on constate qu'il y a une profonde unité à ce programme ambitieux. La liste des réformes ? C'est simple, prenez tout ce qui a été mis en place entre 1944 et 1952, sans exception. Elle est là. Il s'agit aujourd'hui de sortir de 1945 et de défaire méthodiquement le programme du Conseil national de la Résistance !

A l'époque se forge un pacte politique entre les gaullistes et les communistes. Ce programme est un compromis qui a permis aux premiers que la France ne devienne pas une démocratie populaire, et aux seconds d'obtenir des avancées - toujours qualifiées d'«historiques» - et de cristalliser dans des codes ou des statuts des positions politiques acquises.


Ce compromis, forgé a une période très chaude et particulière de notre histoire contemporaine (où les chars russes étaient à deux étapes du Tour de France, comme aurait dit le Général), se traduit par la création des caisses de Sécurité sociale, le statut de la fonction publique, l'importance du secteur public productif et la consécration des grandes entreprises françaises qui viennent d'être nationalisées, le conventionnement du marché du travail, la représentativité syndicale, les régimes complémentaires de retraite, etc.

Cette «architecture» singulière a tenu tant bien que mal pendant plus d'un demi-siècle. Elle a même été renforcée en 1981, à contresens de l'histoire, par le programme commun. Pourtant, elle est à l'évidence complètement dépassée, inefficace, datée. Elle ne permet plus à notre pays de s'adapter aux nouvelles exigences économiques, sociales, internationales. Elle se traduit par un décrochage de notre nation par rapport à pratiquement tous ses partenaires.

Le problème de notre pays est qu'il sanctifie ses institutions, qu'il leur donne une vocation éternelle, qu'il les «tabouise» en quelque sorte. Si bien que lorsqu'elles existent, quiconque essaie de les réformer apparaît comme animé d'une intention diabolique. Et nombreux sont ceux qui s'érigent en gardien des temples sacrés, qui en tirent leur légitimité et leur position économique, sociale et politique. Et ceux qui s'attaquent à ces institutions d'après guerre apparaissent sacrilèges.

Il aura fallu attendre la chute du mur de Berlin, la quasi-disparition du parti communiste, la relégation de la CGT dans quelques places fortes, l'essoufflement asthmatique du Parti socialiste comme conditions nécessaires pour que l'on puisse envisager l'aggiornamento qui s'annonce. Mais cela ne suffisait pas. Il fallait aussi que le débat interne au sein du monde gaulliste soit tranché, et que ceux qui croyaient pouvoir continuer à rafistoler sans cesse un modèle usé, devenu inadapté, laissent place à une nouvelle génération d'entrepreneurs politiques et sociaux. Désavouer les pères fondateurs n'est pas un problème qu'en psychanalyse.

Dr. ElBaradei is the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency and he recently said "we have not seen any undeclared facilities operating in Iran". Did you know Iran is permitted under the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty to have facilities for civilian nuclear power? it's their right. Here is something else the most people are not hearing from the mainstream media: The U.S. is in violation of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

You have to watch independent media like Democracy Now to find out what the mainstream media isn't telling you.

The U.N. nuclear watchdog chief Mohamed IAEA is warning no military action should be taken against Iran, and that threats of war are premature and counterproductive.

ElBaradei also said that there are rules on the use of force.
The public needs to hear these statements. People should know that military action against Iran would be a violation of International law. Mainstream media isn't reporting that.
