hanuman chants from baraka

Hanuman is the Monkey God of India. He is known by many names, like Pavanasuta (Lord of the Wind), Maruti (Like the Wind), Ram Dass (Servant of Lord Ram), Mahavira (Great Warrior), and many more. He is said to be incredibly strong, invincible, the most intelligent being on earth, and immortal.
He is one of the few Hindu gods who is physically still incarnate on the Earth at all times. It is said that he will remain on Earth as long as the name of Lord Rama is remembered. Hanuman loves Rama exclusively and above all things. He becomes lost in the name of Rama, forgetting himself completely, and must often be reminded of his incredible power.

Hanuman is a tremendous warrior who is capable of doing anything, and giving support to all. He is especially known for relieving difficulties coming from Lord Saturn or Lord Mars. Because of his supreme abilities to help people or animals in need, Hanuman is known as Sankata-mochana, or "the Remover of Distress."

Recitation of the Prayer to Hanuman or the Hanuman Mantra (right) brings great benefit and protection, and can also relieve the negative karmas of difficult planets in a birth chart.

What motivated the 9/11 hijackers? See testimony most didn't

What motivated the 9/11 hijackers to attack the US?

US foreign policy bias for Israel in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and US government support for other oppressive regimes in the Middle East.

The 9-11 Commission held its twelfth and final public hearing June 16-17, 2004, in Washington, DC. On June 16 the Commission heard from several of the federal government's top law enforcement and intelligence experts on al Qaeda and the 9-11 plot. It was at this hearing that the question "What motivated them to do it?" was finally asked. Lee Hamilton, vice chair of the 9/11 Commission said, "I'm interested in the question of motivation of these hijackers, and my question is really directed to the agents. ... what have you found out about why these men did what they did? What motivated them to do it?" The agents looked at each other, apparently not eager to be the one to have to say it. FBI Special Agent Fitzgerald stepped up to the plate and laid out the facts, "I believe they feel a sense of outrage against the United States. They identify with the Palestinian problem, they identify with people who oppose repressive regimes and I believe they tend to focus their anger on the United States." But this testimony was kept out of the 9/11 Commission Report and no recommendation was given to address the main motive for the 9/11 attacks.

After the report was issued, the ten commissioners formed the "9-11 Public Discourse Project." At the August 2, 2005 session on foreign policy, Lee Hamilton quickly tries to silence someone who asks why US support for Israel isn't being addressed. The questioner started to ask, "Mr. Hamilton? I had a quick question for you sir. I had spoken with you on C-SPAN about a month ago ..." Immediately Hamilton interrupts him, "I think we'd uh ..." The questioner persisted, "why aren't we addressing the gorilla in the room? The gorilla in the room is US support for Israel." He corrects Hamilton's claim that the Israeli-Palestinian dispute wasn't addressed in the 9/11 Commission Report by referring to page 147 of the report which says, "By his own account, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's animus toward the United States stemmed not from his experiences there as a student, but rather from his violent disagreement with U.S. foreign policy favoring Israel."

The questioner keeps getting interrupted by Hamilton as he pleads, "Why aren't we addressing that sir?" Hamilton didn't answer and dismisses the questioner, "Alright sir. Alright, this is a conversation you and I ought to have. Let's not take up the time of our resource people. May we go to the next question please?"

"This was sensitive ground," Hamilton and Kean say in their new book, "Without Precedent: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Commission," and some commissioners worried "listed U.S. support of Israel as a root cause of al Qaeda's opposition to the United States indicated that the United States should reassess that policy." There is a reason politicians don't want US support of Israel listed as a root cause of al Qaeda's terrorism. There is a reason politicians don't want the American people to "reassess that policy." If the public were to take a good look at the facts, if they researched what the policies actually do to people in the Middle East, they would be horrified. Politicians lie to us about "hatred of our freedoms" because they care more about serving special interests than about keeping us safe. The Commissioners were more interested in playing politics than in fulfilling the 9/11 Commission's mandate to "to provide recommendations designed to guard against future attacks." These politicians betrayed the American people. Dishonesty about the 9/11 motives robs us of the freedom to decide for ourselves if we want to put our lives at risk over specific foreign policies.

Bill O'Reilly really loses it this time

Bill threatens callers for mentioning Olbermann's name on his radio show. This man is not just mistaken but probably criminally insane. (more)

The Best Speech of The 21st Century

This powerful speech by Reverend Graylan Hagler is undoubtedly the best speech of the 21st Century.

In just over 4 minutes, Reverend Hagler covers the major problems of America in the world and the major solution--grass-roots efforts by people like you. You WILL believe you CAN make a difference after watching this speech.

Reverend Graylan Hagler is National President, Ministers for Racial, Social and Economic Justice and Senior Minister, Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ Washington, D.C.

Robert Greenwald vs. Jack Kingston

A big hearty cheer to all of you who made war profiteering a potent and important issue on the national stage. As a result, I was called to testify (along with Jeremy Scahill, author of the brilliant BLACKWATER book) to the House Appropriations Committee and explain the breadth and extent of the profiteering. And they listened, they asked questions, and they discussed how to fix this national tragedy. Imagine, the film all of you helped make and you distributed, was now the subject of serious legislative focus on how to fix the problem at hand.

However, despite the hundreds of thousands who have seen the film around the country, despite the letters, phone calls and pleas from Americans and soldiers of every political persuasion, somehow despite all this, Rep. Kingston was asleep at the wheel. And so he unleashed an old-fashioned, inept, partisan attack.

His intended knock out blow? That the film was an exercise in profiteering!! Ha. He was literally speechless when I explained that 3,000 of you contributed your hard-earned dollars to make the film. That 3,000 of you were figuratively with me in testifying. That 3,000 of you were the true patriots.

Amateur Video May Be Key in Trial of Former California Deputy Accused of Shooting Veteran

05-21-2007 4:08 AM
By GILLIAN FLACCUS, Associated Press Writer

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Associated Press) -- The grainy videotape shows a disturbing scene: A sheriff's deputy shoots a man who appears to be obeying an order to get up off the ground.

A judge overseeing the trial of the deputy got a hint of how powerful the footage is when he asked prospective jurors if anyone had see it and nearly 400 raised their hands.

Opening statements are scheduled for Monday.

The video was taken by a bystander and aired repeatedly on national TV after the Jan. 29, 2006, shooting in Chino, about 50 miles east of Los Angeles.

Former San Bernardino County sheriff's Deputy Ivory Webb Jr., 46, has pleaded not guilty to felony charges of attempted voluntary manslaughter and assault with a firearm. If convicted, he could face more than 18 years in prison.

A jury of eight men and four women was sworn in May 16 after undergoing two rounds of questioning and filling out a detailed, 26-page questionnaire that asked about their exposure to the tape, views on law enforcement and whether they owned guns.

The man who was shot, Senior Airman Elio Carrion, now 23, was a passenger in a car that crashed while being chased by Webb. Carrion testified at a preliminary hearing that he had been drinking at a barbecue to celebrate his recent return from Iraq.

On the 40-second video clip, he can be heard swearing at Webb before the deputy tells him to "get up! get up!" Carrion was then shot three times in the chest, left leg and left shoulder.

Webb's lawyer, Michael Schwartz, has previously suggested that his client might actually have shouted "don't get up!" He has also argued that Webb may have believed Carrion was reaching for a weapon in his jacket pocket as he stood up. Carrion was found to be unarmed.

During a preliminary hearing, Schwartz played an FBI-enhanced copy of the videotape frame by frame to show Carrion's hand going toward his jacket, a movement that is almost imperceptible when the footage is seen at real speed.

Carrion is expected to testify at the trial. He has recovered and is working light duty at Barksdale Air Force Base in Shreveport, La. He has also filed a civil claim against San Bernardino County.

Ron Paul : Stop Dreaming

Congressman Paul's consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, "Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers' ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are." Another colleague observed, "There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few."

Ron Paul: First Bush Was Working Towards New World Order

During a campaign stop in Austin, TX, Presidential candidate Ron Paul stated that the "First President Bush said the New World Order was in tune-- and that's what they were working for. The U.N. is part of that government. They're working very significantly right now for a North American Union. That's why there's a lot of people in Washington right now who don't care too much about our borders. They have a philosophic belief that national sovereignty is not important. It is also the reason I've made the strong suggestion that the U.S. need not be in the U.N. for national security.

American Democracy Threatened By Electronic Voting Machines

From CNN's Broken Government report, CNN's Jack Cafferty and Zane Verjee, Maryland Senate Candidate Kevin Zeese, Johns Hopkins University's Avi Rubin, Princeton University's Ed Felten, and Governor Robert Ehrlich (R- MD) discuss the treat to the integrity of America's election system from the easily hack-able electronic voting machines which are expected to be used by 80 percent of all voters in the November 2006 mid-term elections.

Mumia Abu-Jamal: Freedom and Voice of the voiceless

by http://guerrillaradio.iobloggo.com/
ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE!!!
Mumia Abu-Jamal (born Wesley Cook April 24, 1954) is a journalist and political activist from Philadelphia who was on Death Row after having been convicted of the murder of Philadelphia Police Department Officer Daniel Faulkner, but is now serving life in a Pennsylvania State Prison.[1] Abu-Jamal's case has received international attention and his death sentence became a battleground for opponents and supporters of the death penalty. Many of his supporters claim that he is innocent, that his arrest and conviction were politically motivated, and that he qualifies as a political prisoner. Many of his detractors, on the other hand, assert that he had the benefit of due process and has been legitimately convicted of murder. In December 2001, Abu-Jamal's death sentence, but not his conviction, was overturned by Federal District Court judge William Yohn. Both the prosecution and the defense have appealed Yohn's ruling.

Government Oversight Continues With Halliburton

The Democrats promised to conduct oversight when they took control of Congress and boy, are they delivering. On Monday, the Senate Oversight Committee held a hearing dealing with Halliburton and their exploitation of a loophole in U.S. law that allowed the company to use foreign subsidiaries in order to do business with terrorist states - namely, Iran. This clip shows Democratic Senators Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) and Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) grilling Sherry Williams, V.P. and Corporate Secretary for Halliburton about the company's deplorable ethics and questionable practices.

Vice President Cheney continues to recieve his hefty pension from Halliburton, all the while knowing that that money is being earned with the blood of American soldiers. These people have no morals and no conscience. It's all about the almighty dollar, screw the troops and screw the American people. They're going to get thiers no matter where the money comes from and how many people have to die to get it. This isn't new by any means, but getting these scumbags in front of Congress and forcing them to answer for their disgusting business practices is, and it's about time. Enjoy the show...

5-1-07 LAPD ASSAULTS IMMIGRATION REFORM DEMONSTRATORS

Towards the end of what would otherwise have been a peaceful march and rally, LAPD riot police fired rubber bullets into a crowd of immigration reform demonstrators in Los Angeles Tuesday, May 1, 2007.

This video clip shows police using aggressive crowd control tactics, including rubber bullets and gas, to disperse a group of demonstrators from McArthur Park.

At least one person had bruise marks after being shot. Others were seen being pushed around by police.

There were many other peaceful marches across the nation, as tens of thousands of people marched nationwide, urging Congress to give status to millions of illegal immigrants who come to the U.S. for work.

From My Dinner with Andre

May Day Immigration Reform Protest, Police Burtality

We went to the protest with an open mind, hoping to show our support for Immigration reform, and present the goings-on to the world. What we found when we got there is that "the state" has no interest in allowing peaceful protests. They want to keep anyone protesting in a paralyzed state of fear. Scared is definitely one emotion I felt. Some people (people in this country, people in Iraq) go through much, much worse than this on a hourly basis. But for a Jew from a small town in Vermont, this experience was enough to reaffirm what I already knew: Things Must Change.

9/11 Explosions at World Trade Center

Video: Evidence of many explosions at WTC are well documented: Audio, video, and first-hand knowledge of such explosions are presented in this clip. However, this only scratches the surface. There are over 100 surviving members of the FDNY who claim to have heard/seen explosions all throughout the buildings. If over 300 firemen had not perished in the obviously unexpected collapse of the buildings, I'm sure the number of those providing testimony of this would surely be much higher.
